অস্ট্রেলিয়ার রাজধানী ক্যানবেরার এ আয়োজনে আলোচক ছিলেন বাংলাদেশের দেশ বরেণ্য শিক্ষাবিদ এমিরেটাস অধ্যাপক আনিসুজ্জামান এবং শিকাগো বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ইতিহাসের অধ্যাপক দীপেশ চক্রবর্তী।
এ সেমিনারের বিষয় বস্তু ছিল বাঙালির স্বরূপ নিয়ে আলোকপাত করা। বাঙালির অতীত বর্তমান ও ভবিষ্যৎ এই তিন প্রেক্ষাপট নিয়ে বিশদ আলোচনা করেন আলোচকরা। আলোচনায় উঠে এসেছিল বাঙালি জাতির গোড়া পত্তন এবং ক্রম বিকাশ এবং বর্তমানের ভারত তথা পশ্চিমবঙ্গ, বাংলাদেশ এবং বৈশ্বিক পদচারনায় বাঙালির বিভিন্ন দিক। অত্যন্ত উপভোগ এ আলোচনাটি বাঙালির জন্য নিঃসন্দেহে একটি উল্লেখযোগ্য অর্জন।
আলোচনাটি ধারণ করা আছে, সময় সুযোগ মত বাংলা একাডেমি অস্ট্রেলিয়া তথা আন্তর্জাতিক অঙ্গনের বাঙালির জন্য সে তথ্য প্রকাশ করা হবে।
