Basic Information
Bangla School is an initiative taken by an educational organisation called Bangla Academy Australia. The director of Bangla Academy Australia is Mr Anwar Akash, who founded the organisation in 2006. There are three Bangla school branches, Blacktown, Epping and Lakemba. I am a student in Bangla School at Blacktown and I learn something new every Sunday. Most Bangla children can speak Bangla but they cannot read or write. And also, if you want to be close with your mother there must be no language barrier; and to have no language barrier means you must be able to speak, read and write your mother language. This is why I go to Bangla School every Sunday; to become close with my mother.

What you’re missing out on
Bangla School is a 2-hour Sunday school, which focuses mainly on teaching children in years K-12 the Bangla phonetic script and how to read and write in Bangla. But not only does Bangla School teach the new generation the Bangla language but also many other subjects as well, such as drama, history, art, public speaking, culture and many other various subjects. Bangla School also strives to increase their students’ leadership for their students’ futures. As a student at Bangla School, I highly encourage parents to enrol their children in their nearest Bangla School branch.

Benefits
Learning a new language is very helpful academically and in the long run. Now, there are many other languages to learn but Bangla is one of the easiest to learn. For example, Russian, according to one of my friends, is very hard to learn. Learning a new language can help increase brainpower, develop confidence, improve employability and also helps to become more open-minded. Students in Bangla School also have the opportunity to excel in their academia. They can get a prestigious award, the Minister’s Award for Excellence- Community Language from the government. There are also many other awards that can be received such as the Bangla Academic Award and a Certificate from the NSW Board of Studies, which can be submitted to school and receive a credit for learning a community language. Learning Bangla, can help discover a new culture and also meet new people. Bangla School helps develop a greater understanding of the Bangla language and culture. I highly recommend parents to enrol their children in Bangla School.

Conclusion
In summary, Bangla School is a 2-hour Sunday school teaching various subjects involving Bangla such as debating, drama and art. Children will be learning a new language which is helpful for their future and they will be close with their mother.
